Continuing reports of fish kills, disease, and deteriorating water quality in fish farms outside North America, raise serious questions about public health and the quality of fish imports.

In places like Africa, India, and China, the most common form of larger scale fish production is with the use of “open net pens”.  While this may be relatively safe (for now) in the oceans, the system is now widely used outside North America in inland lakes, rivers, and ponds.  This can be understood given the massive poverty and food shortages world-wide.

However, it has now become crystal clear that such high concentrations of uneaten fish feed and feces that are continuously discharged into lakes, rivers and ponds are creating much more serious problems than they are solving.  Drinking water sources have been treated like latrines. Repeated fish kills in public waters needed for drinking water have become commonplace.

Yet, there is a simple, proven, inexpensive, but U.S. patented solution, which the patent holders wish to share.  The system is Superior Aquaculture, LLC’s  Superior Floating Raceway System, which not only captures most solids, but which can also be used for general water quality restoration.

Production capabilities with tilapia using one Model 48,000 raceway on a 1 acre pond have been calculated at up to a potential 140,000 Lbs./year – without polluting the water.

Public agency leaders, private entrepreneurs, and charitable organizations interested in learning more are invited to contact Superior Aquaculture, LLC.
