The lives of commercial fishermen and watermen encompass an entirely unique and cherished way of life. Sadly, that way of life and the entire culture is now under relentless stress and disappearing as fast as some of the species fished.  Superior Aquaculture, a research and development company having a deep family history in commercial fishing has “been there” and wants to help.

The skills and life-styles of commercial fishing families are perfectly suited for a new fish farm technology proven to be both financially and environmentally rewarding – to all, and the environment.

Superior Aquaculture, LLC, is owned and operated 100% by a former commercial fishing and fish processing family with a female President.

While you can find extensive information about our multi-patented system on our website and other places, I will briefly describe below one of the many processes that are, in fact, a great “fit” for commercial fishing operations of any scale.

Self-Trapping and Sorting of Wild Stock

  1. Superior Raceways can routinely provide flow-through rates of 0-10,000 gal/min.

  2. Wild stocks in surrounding open waters are often drawn to flows.

  3. Superior Raceway Exit Ends have large screened windows with slots for boards or other.

  4. Open water fish are drawn to the flows.

  5. Open water fish hear and see fish feeding from automatic feeders in the raceways.

  6. Some floating feed may escape the raceway.

  7. Pond fish try to join their friends in the raceway.

  8. Fyke nets or cylinder-type trap entrances can be dropped into the slots at exit ends.

  9. Pond fish can be captured in sizes controlled by the size of the trap or entrance holes.

  10. Such fish can be easily trapped, sorted, and placed where needed or for further culture.

  11. Add some lights at night, collect some plankton, and more fish. 😊

  12. Mortality rates are almost zero, and open water stocks can be easily enhanced.
